5.5 magnitude earthquake in Ege Sea

According to the data of the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency Earthquake Department, after the 4.5-magnitude earthquake that occurred at 22.57 yesterday off the Datça district of Muğla, another 4.2-magnitude earthquake occurred at 02.25. After the earthquakes of 4.5 magnitude last night, 5.5 and 4.2 in the morning hours, and 4.3 magnitudes at 11.37 am, another 4.4 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Datça. The earthquake was felt not only in Datça, but also in its surroundings.
According to the data of the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.4 occurred at 12:14 today, 28.22 kilometers off the Datça district of Muğla, the epicenter of which is the Aegean Sea. The earthquake, which occurred at a depth of 21.83 kilometers, was felt slightly. There was no loss of life or property in the earthquake.
EXPLANATION FROM THE VICE MINISTER
Deputy Minister of Interior İsmail Çataklı stated that as of now, there is no negative report about the earthquake that occurred off the coast of Datça.
In his post on his social media account, Minister Çataklı said, “A 5.5 magnitude earthquake occurred off Muğla – Datça at 07.31. As of now, we have been informed that there is no negative report. Scanning studies continue. Goodbye,” he said.
